RANGE SAFETY

·        Inspect your equipment before and after you shoot. Never dry fire your bow.

·        Wear proper clothing and archery gear. Remove or tuck away unnecessary jewelry.

·        Always wear closed toe shoes. Open toe or flip flops are not acceptable.

·        Never point a bow at another person with or without an arrow nocked.

·        Do not nock an arrow until ready to shoot.

·        Point the bow and arrow down range whenever it is nocked.

·        If you hear ‘stop’ or ‘hold’ undraw you bow and un-nock your arrow immediately.

·        Aim and shoot only at the target you intend to hit.

·        Never shoot an arrow straight up in the air.

·        Never shoot an arrow off into the distance where you cannot see where it will land.

·        Be aware of what is in front, behind, or adjacent to your target.

·        Shoot from yardage markers or designated stakes and at designated targets only.

·        Do not move forward of the shooting line for any reason (not even to collect a dropped arrow), if anyone is still shooting.

·        Stay on marked trails and travel only in the course designated direction. Do not go backwards on the course.

·        Always walk, don't run towards the target.

·        When pulling arrows out of the target, stand to one side and be sure no one is directly behind you.

·        If you are looking for a lost arrow behind a target, always lean your bow against the front of the target to be seen by approaching archers. If shooting with others, someone should stand in front of the target.

·        Wooden arrows are not permitted.

·        Arrows with broadhead hunting tips are not permitted.

·        Crossbows are not permitted.

·        Hunting on AAA range property is not permitted at any time.
